Course Structure & Delivery
Course Structure
All courses are developed in a modular, self contained fashion. This enables AIS to customize and tailor course offerings to meet unique client requirements in a highly cost effective manner. In addition, this enables longer duration courses of 5 Days in length to be segmented into 1, 2 or 3 day sessions that can be spread out over time thereby reducing the amount of contiguous time required by participants to be away from their place of work.
Delivery Formats
Courses are offered in a variety of different formats including instructor led sessions, Webinars, and ½ day to full day workshops.
Delivery Location
Except for Webinars, all courses are delivered as private, onsite sessions at client locations. AIS does not offer any public sessions. The benefits to this approach are as follows:
- Improved learning environment. Since participants are all from the same company, classroom conversations are improved, company specific examples can be used, and current company specific issues and problems can be explored resulting in a much more powerful and effective learning experience for all.
- Reduced time away from the office. The time required to actually be away from the place of work is reduced, because in most cases the commute to class is a walk, as opposed to a car or plane ride.
- Job Relevance. How to actually apply something back at the actual place of work once training concludes is now relevant for all attendees, since they are all from the same work environment.
- Company Relevance: Discussions, examples, questions are always relevant within the context of the client organization. In public offerings, such discussions are invariably not relevant to the entire class and must be “side-barred” by the instructor who will attempt to address them for as many participants as time permits during a break or after class.
- “Raising the bar”. In private onsite sessions, instructors must teach to the lowest common denominator, thereby constraining the learnings for the majority of participants. With private onsite classes, the client can select minimum requirements for inclusion in a class and because they control the roster, insure that they are met.
- Learning Adoption: Because participants are sharing a common experience within their company, new levels of understanding and appreciation for one another are developed that carry back over into the workplace and have significant ongoing value as people learn how to work together better.
- No Travel Expense. Because most participants will walk to training, expenses associated with having to travel to class, typically including airfare, lodging, meals and incidentals, are eliminated. So budget dollars can be spent on training.
